The Pen Pals

hi all! As some of you may know, two weeks ago I went on a residency to Grand Marais, Minnesota with 16 other artists that completely changed my life. It was unreal, so fun, and spent surrounded by beautiful wildlife and wildly creative talents from all over the country that I can now happily call my friends. Today! (this morning infact) the residency launched their brand new site along with this beauty of a short film. You can also find photos of the trip here and more about the residency here!

We’re starting to do announcements and such now on Pen Pals horray! For those who are in New York, there will be a really awesome dinner taking place in Brooklyn as part of the Food Book Fair called the Garden Gather Dinner i’m illustrating the menu for as a preview of Mark Andrew Gravel’s cookbook Kill the Recipe. here’s some detes:

“The intimate dinner will highlight local gardened and gathered ingredients from the likes of Brooklyn Grange, forager Evan Strusinski and more prepared by San Francisco based Chef-Artist Leif Hedendal andMark Andrew Gravel, cook, designer and author of the forthcoming book, Kill the Recipe. The six-course tasting menu will feature dishes such as Braised Heirloom Red Cowpeas from South Carolina with Roasted Pheasant’s Back Mushrooms and Ramps paired with unique infused cocktails created with sugar beet vodka by Industry City Distillery and accompanied by beers from Brooklyn Brewery”
